In order to promote a positive learning environment, please be respectful of the following dance school policies:
Dancers:
Please dress appropriately for dance class (fitted leotard, tank or t-shirt and dance/gym shorts with knee high socks, preferably white or highland hose, and ghillies or ballet slippers).
Dancers with longer hair should have hair neatly secured away from the face in a ponytail or bun.
Please bring a water bottle to every class; staying hydrated is important!
Please bring a notebook to class in order to write down corrections.
Please wait for the teacher’s permission to take a rest or drink break and to write down corrections.
Please be respectful of other dancers and refrain from talking during class. If you have a question or do not understand a correction, please raise your hand and wait to be called upon.
Chewing gum, eating, and cell phone use is not allowed.
Make the most of your time in dance class! If the teacher is helping another student, use that time to practice the corrections you were just given!
Please refrain from correcting other dancers unless asked to do so by the teacher.
Please practice outside of class a minimum of 2-3 days per week. That practice should include at least two dances done completely through to music without stopping and 15-20 mins of focused practice on corrections.
All dancers are expected to be respectful of all fellow dancers, families and instructors/professionals.
Parents:
You may drop off your dancers and wait in the adjacent room or quietly observe class. Please refrain from asking questions until a break or after class and please do not instruct or correct your dancer or other dancers during class.
Please let the teacher know if your dancer will be unable to attend class. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!
All parents are also expected to be respectful of all dancers, families and instructors/professionals.
